BOY SCOUTS - TIMELESS VALUES

11APR08. FRIDAY. Received two huge packages from Margaret P. and BSA Troop 400. The packages contained lots of cookies and candy for the guys. Thanks. The little touch of home really goes a long way. Also, got to hear how I must be creating an evil plot against those trying to loose weight by tempting them with the cookies. Thanks Guys. We really appreciate the effort that went into getting the boxes here. Also, the Troop put in a nice little “get home soon” Card. All in all, very nice and certainly and unexpected treat. Also received another note, I believe this is from a student in Dr DuPree’s Leadership Class at UWF. I’d like to share this with you. “People like you – passionate, honorable, serviceful – give me a sense of peace in both mind and heart. To be so motivated with last year’s leadership class when you technically did not know then, you inspired them to ccomplish a very difficult goal. Only amazing leaders can do that…..Natialia L.” Wow. Talk about a big shot in the arm. This one of a handful of card I’ve received while here. And, when things seem low. This is truly an inspirational uplift. So, I’ll shut up for now, and get back to work. Will certainly update when I can. Take Care for Now. Will update when I can. Doug

Doug,
FORE! Tiger is sucking ASSSSSSSSS this year at the Masters...after two rounds he is -1; leader is some shmoe who is -8 (!). I actually haven't played maybe 10 rounds since you left...just not the same...besides my game sucked anyway.
Sorry I haven't done a better job staying in touch. Glad you got the cookies...EAT AWAY, DUDE! FAATTBBOOYY! HAR! We've been getting the 24 of us going to Philmont this summer ready with hiking, etc. to get the crews ready to carry backpacks and working together. Got two more Philmont training events before we depart on 25 June.
The troop is growing...Skylar McDaniel and Chris Werre both are ready for their Eagle BORs. Ryan went with us to the camporee, and his patrol earned a blue (!) ribbon.
Hang in their Doug...keep yer head down and yer powder dry.

Moni

Glad to hear the Troop is preparing for Philmont. Should be a Blast. Also glad to hear Ryan isn't burned-out yet from Scouts. I know his interest in Scouting is waning. Got to keep his head in the game. Only wish I was there to picth in. Also glad to hear about the boys ready for their Eagle. What a tremendous step in their lives. Will certainly think of the Troop as I get sick from eating all those cookies....
