THE WINDY CITY

9MAY08. MONDAY. The Winds here are incredible. Gusts blowing things around constantly. Almost a pain in the rear to go outside. The wind is really pushing the Sand and Trash around the entire place quite readily. On a separate note, the fatigue was really catching up to me. So, instead of getting up to hit the Gym, I slept the additional hour. The full Five and ½ hours felt great and was sorely needed. Called home quickly to get an update on our Family. Seems the eldest girl might have a lingering infection of some sort. Goodness knows, the cold or whatever has been with her well before the Prom. Hopefully, we can get her doctor’s appointment accomplished in concert with Ryan’s medical appointment next week (to see if his clavicle will heal as is). Wishful thinking I’m sure. Lastly, our middle child spent the weekend at the beach at some friend’s beach house. She had fun tubing, swimming etc. Boy, speak of the hardtimes….
Lastly, I received another wonderful note of encouragement and support from a member of Dr DuPre’s leadership class at UWF. Thought I’d share it with you guys.
Dear Mr. Ramsdell,
I learned from Dr. DuPre that you worked closely with the Leadership Class last year. Well, I am Amanda M. and I am part of the Fall 2007 Class. We are working hard trying to get our project completed as we speak. I also heard that you are a member of the Ronald McDonald House Board of Directors. The Ronald McDonald House is very special to me and I also work very closely with them. I am an ALPHA DELTA PHI and the Ronald McDonald House is our National Philanthropy. I hope your stay across seas is going well and your family I safe and doing good. Thanks again for everything you do. Amanda M.
Thanks Amanada. Just this simple endorsement is a jolt to the system and a gentle reminder to be involved in something bigger than one’s self. Doug
