BSA TROOP 400 RULES THE DAY!!!!
30APR07. Monday. Well, door is finally on with a cipher lock. No one has the combo. So, we are all forced to go through the back door. Too Funny. You simply cannot make this stuff up. My buddy and I submitted our paperwork for R&R – only to be shot down. Seems now they (the Army) cannot afford to loose two navy E-6’s at the same time. We are trying to petition the effort. Regardless, we are both going on R&R, just might have to go it alone. What Fun!! Will keep you posted. Work has been so busy, that I haven’t been able to get away to check email. Will try to do so tonight. Oh, before I forget, the me give A BIG SHOUT OUT TO TROOP 400. THEY RULE!!! Seems Troop 400 bought some Girl Scout Cookies for the specific purpose of sending them my way. Let me tell you, there were a lot of cookies. And, they went fast. I’ve never seen such a flurry of activity centered on cookies. Just like a taste of home. I think that’s why there are such a hit, they remind us a little of home. Also want to thank Meg B. for sending them my way. Thanks Meg. I sure do miss you guys. Tell all at Troop 400 I really miss camping. Also, thanks to Priscilla E. for thinking of me and the folks deployed. Well, I’m gonna snack on some mint wafers, and watch some Reno 911 episode. Take Care and Thanks for thinking of us. Doug

Hey, Doug! It's Priscilla from Troop 400..also GS Troop 45 with the cookies. The girls will be very happy to hear that the cookies were a hit. I didn't know you had a blog, but will try to keep up with what's going on with you this way now. The girls always want to know what's going on with "their soldiers". Hang in there and hopefully we'll see you soon.
Doug,
Wish we could hit some golf, dude! I was in Tallahassee from Wed-Sat with a vet's group for the annual Youth Leadership Conference we host each year; I presented two classes. Anyway, it was good to walk around on FSU's campus and relive old times.
Glad you like the cookies! What else can we send you guys?
Ryan missed our campout last weekend, Terri said he was sick but getting better. On 19 May we go swimming at Krull Lake, on 26 May we go for a 10-mile hike on NAS for the Historic Trails Award.
We leave for Seabase on 3 June, return on 11-12 June. Long drive...
Stay in touch, hope this blog stuff works...Moni
Doug: On this Memorial Day, I just want to say Thank You for what you are doing there in Afghanistan. I pray for your safety, and that of all Americans who are in harms way. Dave
