EARTHQUAKE

3APR07. Tuesday. Well, the big news of the day. Had a big earthquake last night. Was actually kinda neat. Occurred while I was answering some email. I sure a nearby country did not fare as well. Was the topic of conversation for the remainder of the night. Talked with the wife and kids last night. Hadn’t heard their voices in some days. Was nice to hear them again. Got to get up several hours early to call DC tonight. My hope is to catch several Navy folks at their desks before the end of their Day. So, I’m signing off now. Will update when I can. Doug

Hi Doug-
Finally received the belt. I shipped it out to you today along with goodies. Did complete the lieutenant process successfully, but not as #1 candidate. Will sit on the list for two years until it expires, or I am promoted. Although I did try my hardest and prepared, I still could not get ahead of the game. Although it is ok with me as I love what I am doing right now and being promoted immediately means going back to the 12 hour midnight shifts for about 5 years. At least this gives me time to appreciate the day shift gig for a while. Secondly, timing could not be better as Kendal will not be an infant, but a toddler and I feel more comfortable with that. Miss and love you. I did forget to add videos in this package and as I read one of your more recent blogs, I was reminded of it.
Keep your head down in the sandbox and play nice with your friends.
Love, Sharon

Sorry to hear about your exam. who knows, maybe the guys in front will expire tragically - moving you to the front position. Still, believe timing is the key. Tough to work mids with the BABY....Doug
